Asus’ new mini PC has a Copilot AI button on the front for some reason

Asus is unveiling its new NUC mini PC today, featuring Intel’s latest Core Ultra Series 2 processors. Notably, this compact PC includes a dedicated button for Microsoft’s Copilot AI assistant on its front panel.

While having an AI button on a device that will likely be positioned out of easy reach on your desk may seem unusual, it marks a step beyond Microsoft’s previous attempts to integrate AI into keyboards. The mini PC also includes a fingerprint reader for Windows Hello authentication, which is a more practical feature for initial setup.

The NUC 14 Pro AI is well-equipped with a range of ports and connectivity options. The front panel features two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports, a Thunderbolt 4 port, and a headphone jack. The rear includes an Ethernet port, another Thunderbolt 4 port, an HDMI port, and two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports. Additionally, it supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. The mini PC even has an internal speaker and microphone, which could be handy if you lack external speakers or headphones.

Inside, the NUC 14 Pro AI boasts Intel’s new Lunar Lake processors, promising up to twice the GPU performance of previous generations. Asus has also integrated a high-end fluid dynamic bearing fan to enhance cooling and maintain optimal performance under heavy workloads.

As a Copilot Plus PC, the NUC 14 Pro AI will offer access to Microsoft’s latest Windows AI features through an update expected in November. Pricing details have not yet been announced, but the mini PC is slated for release later this year.
