How to Preorder the Apple Watch Series 10 and Black Apple Watch Ultra 2

During Apple’s recent “It’s Glowtime” event, the spotlight was on the iPhone 16, but the event also unveiled the new Apple Watch Series 10 and a sleek black version of the Apple Watch Ultra 2. Preorders for both watches are now open, with their official release set for September 20. The Series 10 starts at $399, while the black Ultra 2 is priced from $799.

The Apple Watch Series 10 features Apple’s thinnest design yet and boasts a new wide-angle OLED display, the largest ever used in an Apple smartwatch. This model is powered by the new S10 SiP (System in Package) and includes enhanced health monitoring features, such as alerts for sleep apnea. Both the Series 10 and the Ultra 2 can now stream music and podcasts directly through their built-in speakers, expanding their functionality beyond just phone calls.

Victoria Song, who briefly tested these devices, noted the substantial impact of the Series 10’s larger screen and praised the new black color option for both models. However, she mentioned that the Milanese Loop clasp on the Ultra 2 can be somewhat tricky. Stay tuned for our detailed review, but here’s a quick guide on where to preorder the Series 10 and the black Ultra 2.

Where to Preorder the Apple Watch Series 10

The Apple Watch Series 10 features an upgraded wide-angle OLED display that surpasses even the Ultra’s screen in size. It also boasts Apple’s fastest-charging technology, reaching 80% in just 30 minutes. The design is thinner with smoother, rounded corners for a more refined look.

Under the hood, the Series 10 is powered by a new S10 chip with a four-core neural engine. It introduces new health features, including depth and temperature sensors and an accelerometer that can detect potential sleep apnea disturbances. Although this feature is pending FDA approval, Apple anticipates it will be approved soon. The watchOS 11 update also includes new fitness features, such as Training Load measurement and Activity Ring pause options.

Available in titanium and aluminum finishes, the Series 10 comes in colors like silver, rose gold, jet black, dark gray, and light gray. You can preorder the GPS model in 42mm for $399 or 46mm for $429 from Amazon, Best Buy, and Apple. For models with cellular connectivity, prices start at $499 for the 42mm and $529 for the 46mm.

Where to Preorder the Black Apple Watch Ultra 2

The updated Apple Watch Ultra 2 now offers a striking “satin black” finish, a first for this model. It maintains the rugged features of the original Ultra 2 and includes new functionalities like sleep apnea detection and music playback via built-in speakers. The Ultra 2 remains Apple’s most durable and long-lasting watch, featuring the S9 processor and a second-gen ultra-wideband chip.

The black Ultra 2 is available in a 49mm size with cellular connectivity and can be preordered with an Ocean Band, Alpine Loop, or Trail Loop strap for $799. A matching titanium Milanese Loop option is available for $899. You can place your preorder through Amazon, Best Buy, or Apple.
